Room to Talk

To mark World Mental Health Day on October 10, we are proud to announce our first podcast, Room to Talk, will be launching soon.

Room to Talk will bring together people with lived experience, colleagues and clinicians to have open, honest and compassionate conversations about mental health, wellbeing, recovery and support.

Our podcast host is Tom Chapman, founder of The Lions Barber Collective. Tom is an internationally recognised barber, mental health advocate and campaigner who has dedicated his work to creating safe spaces for conversations about mental health and suicide prevention.

Through sharing real stories, we hope Room to Talk will help reduce stigma, encourage understanding and remind people that they are not alone in facing life's challenges.

Room to Talk podcast - Episode 1: 'My story, my recovery'

In our first episode; 'My story, my recovery', Tom Chapman welcomes Will Ferdinand, Nursing Assistant and Expert by Experience, who will share his personal experience of mental health difficulties, recovery and the support that helped him through some of the most challenging periods of his life.

Together, they explored the importance of speaking openly, asking for help, the power in recognising recovery is a journey and for Will, the steadfast companionship of his dog, Scamp.
