We are delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievement of our South West Provider Collaborative Family Ambassador Service, which has been recognised at the Mental Health Awards 2026, winning the Nominate a Professional award.

This award celebrates the exceptional contribution of our Family Ambassadors - Nicola, Katrina and Tilly - and the difference they make to families navigating inpatient mental health services.

Our Family Ambassador Service offers families a compassionate, independent and non-judgemental space to feel heard, understood and supported during what can be an incredibly challenging time. Drawing on their own lived experience, our Family Ambassadors help families navigate services, build confidence and ensure their voices remain central to conversations about care.

The judges recognised the powerful impact of this approach, commenting: "The judges were impressed by how powerfully your peer-led Family Ambassador model transforms the inpatient experience, serving as a lifeline for parents and setting a benchmark for compassionate, gold-standard family support in mental health."

This recognition reflects the dedication, empathy and commitment our Family Ambassadors bring to their work, as well as the importance of lived experience in shaping more compassionate and responsive mental health services.

We are incredibly proud of Nicola, Katrina and Tilly, and grateful for the time, care and expertise they share with families and services across the South West. Their achievement highlights the value of peer-led support and the meaningful difference that working alongside families can make.

Congratulations to our Family Ambassadors on this well-deserved recognition!
