  • How to get help

    How to get help

Most people with an eating disorder will be treated by their community eating disorders team. In many cases this is sufficient to begin to make changes in people's lives.

To be referred to The Haldon, you must first be seen by your local specialist eating disorders community team. They will assess your needs and, if appropriate, refer you to the relevant community eating disorder service.

This service will then carry out a further assessment to determine the best type of support for you. If an admission to The Haldon is necessary, they will arrange this.

If not, they will work with you to provide support as part of your recovery journey within the community.

If you are accepted for inpatient treatment you will be placed on the waiting list for admission. During this time your community eating disorders service will continue to oversee your care and treatment.
