Staff and volunteers make a pledge for Mental Health Awareness Week
This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and the theme chosen by the Mental Health Foundation is ‘action’. While awareness of mental health is vital, real change comes when we take steps to support mental health in our everyday lives.
The theme reflects the need for action at every level:
- For ourselves: Making small changes to improve our wellbeing day-to-day
- For someone else: Checking in with colleagues, family and friends. Our environment impacts our mental health
- For all of us: Together, we can make a difference and advocate for a society that supports mental health at every level
To mark this year’s theme, we asked our staff and volunteers across the Trust to share a pledge for mental health. You can watch the video of their pledges on our YouTube channel. Alternatively, you can visit our Facebook or Instagram page to stay up to date with everything we will be posting over the course of the week.
If you would like to get involved in Mental Health Awareness Week, it’s not too late! This Thursday is #WearItGreen for mental health. Simply wear something green and show your support for raising awareness of mental health. You could do this by yourself, or you could get your friends, family or work colleagues involved. Share your photos using the hashtag #WearItGreen on social media.
